First 40 minutes are terrific - fun and witty screwball comedy with Harlow and Gable as low-level grifters trying to get by, and get over, in Depression-era Brooklyn.
But most unfortunately, the movie morphs into a moralistic melodrama, following Harlow to a women's reformatory, where she will spend the next two years, and the viewers will spend the next 47 lame minutes.
