Good but not great. I enjoyed reading this book but if I had to put it down to do something else, I didn't feel compelled to pick it back up again as soon as possible. The plot is good. The story is interesting and layered. The author managed to avoid a cliche that I was dreading and handled the autistic character very nicely. There are a *lot* of characters. I think that may be what made it hard to get into the story. You are hit with a very large number of characters and spend a very short amount of time with each - at least initially. By the time you're halfway through the book, it's a little clearer who you need to pay attention to - but I don't know that the book really needed to have five or six named/relevant police characters on top of all the townspeople. Pacing is good, and the flashbacks are incorporated well enough that the timeline is easy to follow. The resolution is plausible and works with the rest of the book without being insanely obvious. Worth reading.
