A complete misfire of an adaptation of the far more disturbing novella. The only things I liked about the film were the two leads and the ending, which was far less ridiculous than the original ending of the story.

Interesting. At times the story got intense especially the cat scene. For me Apt Pupil was somewhat hard for me to follow at times while watching this movie.

Good cat-and-mouse subtlety as each of the two--the morbidly fascinated teenager and the old war criminal in hiding--tries to quietly get the upper hand against the other.

There is a brutal scene with a cat. If you are a cat lover, beware. I had to turn off the movie.
