This animated series is funny, irreverent, innovative, and record breaking. Some seasons are better than others, but overall it's a great watch!

I've been watching the series with my 12-year-old son. Be aware that "South Park" premiered in 1997, which I assume contributed to higher amount of edgier material in this season in the Simpsons. Plus I'm not finding the show as funny. "Lord of the Flies" isn't funny--and neither is the parody.

I enjoyed previous seasons a lot more.

The problem with "The Simpsons" still being on the air is that it overshadows just how funny, groundbreaking and satiric it was in its glorious 90s run. This set, which is their '97-'98 season, represents one of their last truly great seasons. Highlights include the 200th episode (with guests U2 and Steve Martin), Krusty's reinvention as an edgy comedian, the "Lord of the Flies" parody and Mojo the helper monkey ("Pray for Mojo").
