This movie was a little weird for me. Caught it on cable last summer and watched it for a while trying to figure out what kind of movie it was. It has some sweet moments but overall really not my kind of movie. Sci Fi fans may enjoy it more.

Or Data Analyzing Robot Youth Lifeform. 1985's "DARYL" was part of the post-"ET" wave of movies about a cute, but threatened fill-in-the blank. There were usually evil scientists or the government about to get them. It could be an alien ("ET," "Mac & Me,"), a robot ("Short Circuit"), an animal ("Project X"), or Bigfoot ("Harry and the Hendersons"). DARYL is a robot kid who gets loose and is adopted by a family. And then some stuff happens. The kid was also in "Neverending Story." Michael McKean of "Spinal Tap" fame is the dad. I haven't seen it since I was a kid and, well, it hasn't aged well. You might also like "Flight of the Navigator."
