"The mixed-media diary of a girl whose strange illness, which doctors cannot seem to crack, may have its origins in something dark and ancient--an entity that takes pleasure in controlling her mind, and her body"-- Provided by publisher.
Laetitia Jones's path to stardom seems to be halted by a mysterious, undiagnosed illness that's taken over her body. Her symptoms start with fevers and chills, but soon escalate to bizarre bodily reactions. When horrific visions begin to invade her mind, she begins to wonder: is her illness something biological, or is it something more? Are the voices she hears and the notes she finds in her own handwriting signs of insanity, or signs of something much more sinister and demonic?

The book has a really unique style of telling a story. Most books this style use the diary style, but Mr. Verano tries a new way to write his book by telling the story through blogs, which makes the story more diverse since it can be private like diaries are or it can be public and tens of thousands of people can share the story. That’s my favorite part of the book. The storyline in general is also pretty interesting. Dreams has always been a hot topic for teen fictional novels, and Mr. Verano utilized it well. The constant switch between dreams and reality, public and private mode on the blog makes it very appealing to the readers. This book is definitely worth reading. Really “abnormal” novel. 4/5
