An old movie, I had never seen before. Dreyfus was rapid fire with his delivery Won Academy Award. Lots of shouting. Question is , did he return to Marsha Mason after movie gig in Seattle?. Lots of scenes in the rain.

Directed by Herbert Ross in 1977, this American romcom depicts the hate-turns-into-love relationship between a sigle mother and a struggling actor.
Although Richard Dreyfuss grabbed an Academy award as Elliot Garfield, his acting doesn't impress me at all because his performance appears unnatural and overacting.
Superb is the acting of Quinn Cummings as Lucy McFadden.
Anyroad, it turns out a nice entertaining piece.

A fun and happy movie. A young Marsha Mason and Richard Dreyfus are both excellent as an aspiring actor dancer who become mismatched and unexpected roommates to save on rent in New York City. The scene where Richard Dreyfus plays a very affected and effeminate Richard III is pee your pants funny. Definitely a blast from the past: pay phones, cars with real keys, no security cameras, no internet, no cell phones, no laptop computers. Loved it. Must see if you are a Neil Simon fan.

Good acting, good love story, and some good comic moments as well. Stands up well over time.

My fiance' and I loved this movie! It was charming and funny! Richard Dreyfuss, Marsha Mason, and Quinn Cummings all were perfectly cast and were delightful. All three actors were nominated for Oscars, as was the film itself and the screenwriting.
