This was my first Grippando book and I definitely was not "gripped" by it, especially in this audio book version.

The characters alternate between wooden and total stereotype (especially the ethnic characters). Not one of these men or women could walk off a page.

And the African American audio rendition sounded like something out of Porgy and Bess. Sigh.

The dialog, especially in the love scenes, is painful.

On the plus side, the plotting is pretty good, especially at the end.

I learned a lot about aquifers in Florida.
