VERY GOOD Rough Guide (those are always good) this time to modern South African jazz. 13 cuts of fun uptempo jazz; good way to get introduced to jazz groups you likely never heard before.
I particularly enjoyed pianist Bokani Dyer and his group with fun horns doing 'Vuvuzela'.
Guitarist Allen Kwela's tune 'Seven Days Ago' was also very good. He's from Durban, South Africa and was a part of the penny whistle (a type of simple six holed tin flute often associated with Celtic skiffle music) street music scene. In South Africa the instrument i known as a kwela - apparently he took his music last name from that.
I'm enjoying the flavors of this jazz music so much I might have to buy a copy.
