I really enjoyed reading this book with my 4y/o son. I appreciated the descriptiveness, and vocabulary used to tell the story. The artwork was beautiful, and I loved that it was black and white - it really left room for imagination.

When I read books with my son, I tend not to be able to look at the pictures as much, as I am focused on the words, and I loved this book because it was so descriptive, it cast the story in my mind as I read it.

Traveling to the Pacific Northwest? Curious about how to build a raft or how barnacles eat? Then this is the book for you. Nikki McClure's awesome artwork accompanies a longer story about a boy building a raft with his family while waiting for the tide to turn.

So boring! It's more non fiction than an actual story being told
