Tired of her bland marriage, Emma moves in with her son Elliot, who is a chef at a failing Chinese restaurant. He is also gay, and Emma's distaste and denial over this has made them strangers to each other. But now, as she indulges herself with the encouragement of a new friend, and Elliot confronts his fears of intimacy, mother and son find ways to communicate with food where words fail.

I wanted to like this movie, especially when Nicole Sullivan (MADTV) and George Takei (Star Trek) were cast in it. I only could watch about 30 minutes before this movie literally put me to sleep.

This is a lovely little film. Yes, sometimes the script can be cliched, but the real reason to watch this film is Sharon Omi's performance.

Not a bad gay film choice for a mindless watch, but not that great or memorable. It's rather full of cliches and confusing aspects (such a guy owning a restaurant who apparently has no real passion for food) but it also lacks the pointless drama that many film makers feel they have to inject into their gay themed films.

It's a mom and son drama and there's a a crazy fun neighbor... the son is homosexual and there are sex scenes which is kind of uncomfortable....

slow moving predictable plot with not enough emphasis on the development of the pop up restaurant and saving the business and too much on the spoiled entitled son and his sex life.

My poor dieting friend found this film a little too much, because the food looks very yummy. It is a lovely story. As one of the actors observed "there are no bad guys", just real people struggling.

I really enjoyed this movie. Yes, it was a bit slow, but I found that to be part of it's charm. It was nice to be relaxed throughout a film and to truly enjoy the interactions.
