I just couldn't give this movie very many stars. It was somewhat depressing yes, I know that was the sadness in this story of struggling people. It left me feeling that I was almost snooping on these people during a raw time in their lives, like they could just as well have had a cancer they were trying to deal with. So sad, so real.

I think this is a good documentary because it exposes the "good pastor" as an egotist that goes against his own community to help many who thought there was an easy buck to be made. I found myself being more and more unsympathetic toward those who found themselves homeless following a naive dream. Many of them proved as the film progressed to be very unpleasant people that were just looking for a handout. The best thing that could have been done for them was give them a free (non-refundable) bus ticket back to where they came from. I don't think that the pastor's personal problems should have been made part of this movie...it's just a distraction from the main theme of the movie.

Holy Toledo Batman! or North Dakota, whatever. The pastor did so much to help others, and he is only human, just like everyone else.

I was surprised that towards the end of the movie, a twist or a new plot evolved which made this documentary more powerful in its impact to the viewer. Watch the added feature, the interview with Jay Reinke, the pastor. It's basically a part of the film. Disturbing yet beautiful and honest!
