Polaris is the sequel to Mindee Arnett’s Avalon. After Jeth Seagrave and his crew finally rescue Jeth's sister, Cora, from the ITA; he is now the universe's most wanted criminal. Having nowhere else to turn, he goes to Daxon Price, a crime lord, and makes a deal with him. Jeth's mom wants him and his team to destroy the first harvester. Which harvests Pyreans, who can control meta-space. Only after this, Dax will give Jeth's mother total freedom and Dax gets the coordinates to Empyria; the Pyreans' home. Without the harvesting of these creatures. no one will be able to jump through meta-space, not allowing them to travel distances of light years. Dax wants to sell these creatures where they are the strongest, thus he makes loads of money. Jeth has to now figure out how to destroy the harvester without getting caught by the ITA and to rescue his mother without giving up the location of Empyria. The title of this book did not really make that much sense to me. It was the name of the ship that they completed the mission with and in the end Jeth gets to keep the ship. The significance of the ship was not that important in the book either. Other than, it also looks exactly like Jeth’s old ship. After reading this book I would rate it 2.5 or 3 stars out 5. This is because even though there were some unexpected twists, the story started out a bit boring. But, I would still recommend reading it if you had read Avalon previously.

An interesting read (although pretty light without much depth). My biggest disappointment was the final conclusion which just sorts of flops.
