I enjoyed what I listened to. The rendition was captivating and interesting.
I have never read this work and I found the audio version went a bit too fast for a first timer. I will return to this after reading the book.
I got to the end of Chapter 1 and was very intrigued by the story. Well told.

There is no better spoken version of this epic poem than Anton Lesser's -- it is clear to the point of savagery. You may want to have an annotated copy nearby as you listen, but first let Milton's sweet thunder roll over you. Should be popular with Tolkien and Philip Pullman fans.
