A woman crosses paths with a serial killer on her way home from dropping off her former mafioso husband at a job interview. This may sound like the beginning of a bad comedic joke but trust me it's not. The rest of the movie (most of which is told in flashback) serves up a strong lesson in karma, vengeance and the power of forgiveness. Ritesh Deshmukh (who plays the titular villain) shows a new and much appreciated layer to his acting range, he's usually a comedic actor but it's nice too see him step outside his comfort zone for a change. The leads; Shraddha Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra are virtually newcomers in Indian cinema, so much so that I think this was my introduction to both actors and my review of their acting is so far so good. The soundtrack's hauntingly eloquent and the guest appearances by Kamal Rashad Khan and Prachi Desai were simply perfect for the mood of the film.
