Not that great as far as details for beginners (a little dull). I thought the _Kids Crochet_ book by Kelli Ronci did better at describing that stuff. The projects were different, though, and easier to get done quickly. Might be a good idea for kids who know the basics but need inspiration for something that's not an afgan, a granny square or a scarf. Or for those who are trying to get back into it and need something simple.
