I agree with the comments written by trotter73. Ginger was Elivis' puppet. The few hours after Elvis' death she was asked to leave Graceland. She mentions that she left all the expensive jewelry that Elvis gave her behind. I bet she wished she would have taken it so that she could have sold it to help pay for the house that Elvis said was being paid for but was not. I skimmed through the better part of the book; it was a bit boring. The last few chapters were interesting as it was about the death of Elvis.

she never loved him

Elvis appears to have been a recluse like Howard Hughes, spending most of his time in his bedroom surrounded by "yes men" even when traveling to a new locale such as Vegas or Hawaii, he would rather stay in his room in his pajamas reading numerology books rather than see the sights.

Given the short time she knew Elvis (8 months total) and the fact they had little to nothing in common, as you can clearly see reading this book (she just did whatever he wanted for the most part). I'd say she was more in love with his fame and the expensive gifts he showered on her and her family more so than Elvis the man.
