My search for a simple syrup recipe for iced tea brought me to this book and I ended up reading it from cover to cover. The author freely shares his meticulous techniques and trials and errors and his sense of humor makes for an entertaining and informative read. His success as a mixologist is obviously a result of his quest for perfection.

The average home drinker probably won't attempt many of the things or assemble the various kinds of equipment described in this well-written and attractive book. But its pages contain a wealth of information, cocktail history and other tidbits to pique the reader's interest. For anyone seriously interested in cocktails or thinking of becoming a "cocktail technician," this is a book well worth assimilating.
