This is an interesting read - part sci-fi, part supernatural, part family relations. The main character discovers that the father who's gone missing, has a different life history altogether. Book 1 of the Unicorne Files series. Recommended.

Chris D’Lacey’s ‘A Dark Inheritance’ – Unicorn Files Book One was another excellent book by the author of the Last Dragon Chronicles books one through seven. This new book was similar in some ways to D. J. MacHale’s ‘The Light’ - Morpheus Road Trilogy - Book One. Doctor-at-Bass! Taylor A.

So maybe this book is geared toward pre-teens or whatever but I'm 18 years old and loved Chris' Last Dragon Chronicles so I gave this a shot.
IT WAS AWESOME. It was fast paced and kept you guessing until the end. And mean that, until the end. Like, the last chapter was so mind blowing and unfathomable and I kind of ended the book and just had to think about what I just read because it was so cool. I can't wait for the next book because I have so many questions that need answers.
Give this a read no matter how old you are because a book this mind blowing deserves to be read!
