This is a lackluster 'actioner'.
There's often an exciting soundtrack thumping away,.. but without any exciting action to go with it !
ie. ..while the hero walks downtown to the corporation building, or drives in from the airport to the city, & etc..etc.
There's face-punching and pistol shooting,.. but mostly plotless posturing.
... and a cop doesn't go into a shoot-out alone and leave his partner back at headquarters to take phonecalls ! Thats why they're called 'partners'.
...and a hardened career criminal mastermind doesn't try to kill a cop by shooting him in his plainly visible Kevlar vest.

Kev's PICkS: For Film-making Students... to see how poorly this film is made,.. compare it to the beautifully crafted "Brick Mansions".
Imagine the difference between these two in their: story-boarding (or not), casting, coverage, soundtrack scoring, editing, pacing, clarity of dialogue (or its lack),... and then measure how how these all add up to a Great Actioner vs. a Dismal Disappointment.

A British ex-soldier Jack Reacher type of a guy destroyed other tough guys in this version of "Taken" and more.

Story line could have been better. Reminds me of a made for TV movie starring Steven Seagal... without the martial arts fighting.

Imagine a 50 year old Jason Statham starring in Taken, instead of Liam Neeson and you will get a feel for this movie.

Shannon: There is one thing that he likes better than money.
Lex: What? I'm missing something, what is it?
Shannon: Escorts.
Lex:Just try and get us there
in one piece, yeah?
Ricky: Are you kidding me? We're fleeing the scene of a crime!
Lex: Well, then, try not to make it so obvious!
