"Rob Delaney is the raunchiest feminist you'll ever meet. But if you're one of the 788,000 people who follow him on Twitter, you already know that. Delaney has made the 140 character tweet into a comic art form and that talent--along with the hilarious and painful sharing he does in his stand-up--has made him a white-hot comedy superstar. Tackling subjects from his youthful obssession (and pen pal relationship) with heavy metal band Danzig to drunken bungee jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge, from his court-ordered stint in rehab to witnessing the miracle of his son's birth, these essays meanderingly trace Rob's journey from middle class theater geek, to public menace, to devoted family man and passionately engaged model citizen. All together, these essays (interspersed with some of his "Greatest Tweets") make clear why it is he is so darn lovable and so f♯!%ing funny"-- Provided by publisher.

Funny but forgettable . Light reading

Rob Delaney manages to pull off an autobiography void of self-indulgence but rich with accounts of Rob's life (some of which would be a bit of a bummer if Rob didn't immediately repay his readers with humor after having dragged them into the bowels of a very sad, Hemingway-esque version of Hell). For fans of Delaney's bizarre, raunchy, and witty brand of humor, this is a great read.

Rob Delaney is a comedian (check out his stuff on YouTube), recovering alcoholic, depression sufferer and Twitter wit. He's also half responsible, along with Sharon Horgan, for one of my favourite TV shows of recent years, Catastrophe.

His book is full of great, funny, poignant stories from his life that don't veer away from the awkward (there is bed-wetting), disappointing or shameful. It's brash, foul-mouthed and laugh out loud funny. Warning: Contains LOTS of swearing.

I took this on a vacation, and it was the perfect read! As long as you aren't embarrassed if you laugh out loud in public places like airplanes.

I’m a fan of Rob Delaney’s über-successful twitter account, and while I was expecting to be amused by his book, nothing could have prepared me for the hilarious emotional bulldozer hidden within. In between funny jokes about trying to impress his French teacher and pooping on a strange lady’s lawn, Rob breaks out with raw truth about his self destructive past: drunk driving, alcoholism, daredevil stunts, life-threatening injuries, rehab, and suicidal depression. (Wait, isn’t this supposed to be a funny book?) The length of a book gives Rob Delaney room to use his weird humor to excavate truths and reveal himself as a whole, flawed person with genuine regard for other human beings. And who also likes to tell jokes about pooping. I loved this.
