Dawson Scott is a well-respected journalist recently returned from Afghanistan. Haunted by everything he experienced, he's privately suffering from battle fatigue which is a threat to every aspect of his life. But then he gets a call from a source within the FBI. A new development has come to light in a story that began 40 years ago. It could be the BIG story of Dawson's career one in which he has a vested interest. Soon, Dawson is covering the disappearance and presumed murder of former Marine Jeremy Wesson, the biological son of the pair of terrorists who remain on the FBI's Most Wanted list. As Dawson delves into the story, he finds himself developing feelings for Wesson's ex-wife, Amelia, and her two young sons. But when Amelia's nanny turns up dead, the case takes a stunning new turn, with Dawson himself becoming a suspect.
Already coping with battle fatigue following his return from Afghanistan, journalist Dawson Scott receives a tip he cannot ignore about a potentially huge story involving the son of terrorists at-large for forty years.

Really enjoyed my first book by Sandra Brown. It was one of those books that was hard to put down.

My least favourite Sandra Brown novel. I actually got bored and struggled to finish it.

Brown excels at surprising the reader in this book. DNA is used to solve a mystery and change how a person views their heritage. Attraction between Dawson and Amelia is the better for it.

Great book. Lots of plot twists, but easy to follow. I always enjoy reading books by Sandra Brown!

Another outstanding book by Brown.. A journalist who unwillingly accepts to review a murder trial, but who ultimately becomes involved in the turmoil, savagery and deceit of this Amelia's extended 'family'. It was well worth reading - couldn't put it down.

Very enjoyable, in spite of the sex scenes I could have done without, but there were only a few and easy to flip past. Otherwise good storyline and lots of suspense.

A little slow at first. Picks up steam and the twist at the end is unbelievable. Also... the sex will get you moving.

Loved this book, as I do most Sandra Brown books, but this had a surprise twist that i wasn't expecting. I would recommend for sure.
