The only character I liked in this edition was the jefe. I feel like I shouldn't have waited so long to read "The Lord of Opium" as my book taste seems to have changed since I read its prequel. Not that the book was exceptionally good. It was anticlimactic and a bit of a let down tbh.

I enjoyed this book, but I thought the ending could have been a little more spectacular. I liked the first one better.

The Lord of Opium – Finally the sequel to Nancy Farmer’s multiple Award Winning ‘The House Of The Scorpion,’ was released and Ms. Farmer did not disappoint her fans. A must read for young adults. It begins a few hours after the final events in the first book. A five stars plus rating on my book rating scale. Warning, once you start this book you will not want to put it down. Doctor-at-Bass!
