Add a CommentTomasi does a good job handling the relationship dynamics of father and son, Bruce and Damian, in this collection from the New 52 reboot. As acidic as Damian is, he makes for a compelling Robin, dealing with adversaries on the one hand and former Robins on the other.
No doubt about it, Batman and his world are the best of the New 52 that I have read at least. This one's art and stories are well above DC's ordinary 2 to 3 star output. Damian is shaping up very nicely as an interesting and worthy Robin. DC did a great job with Dick Grayson and turning a side kick into such a great character is no mean feat, but it looks like they are on track again with Damian. Of course it will take several decades to be sure, but Damian is the only other Robin, besides Dick, who could become Batman, should DC lose their collective minds and permanently retire Bruce. Unfortunately losing their collective minds is too real a possibility.
Tomasi continues to explore Bruce and Damian's relationship in this second volume of adventures from the New 52 universe.
