Psychiatrist, the author writes about treating Karen, a severely abused child and how he got to know each of the 17 different personalities.
The abuse was hard to read and felt like putting the book down. The personalities were interesting how as a reader you get to know each one.
Book was a bit long and was loosing interest 3/4 of the way through.

A really interesting look into the would of multiple personalities. Amazing to read how all the alters have their distinct personalities and how they interact with each-other and the main personality. Anyone who is fascinated with the inner workings of the human mind will enjoy this book. Dr. Baer really brings you into the world and makes you feel as if you know the patient and alters personally.

An absolutely harrowing read. I was repelled, and simultaneously drawn into, this fascinating and often horrific story. A thoroughly engrossing and thought-provoking book, but not for the faint of heart.
