I loved it. Gave me chills. Perfct mix of sweet, spooky, and dark.

You MUST read this book. It is not only a quick read, it is one you will not want to put down until you finish it. Definitely not for the younger readers out there, or those easily disturbed by intense imagery, but the connections made between the stories is positively uncanny.

Outstanding and creepy, these interlocking tales bring a strange menace to what might be an otherwise ordinary day. The prose is tight and beautiful.

Good, but not as good as "The Housekeeper and the Professor".

The "stories" (they're really inter-connected) are uneven, but the best are reminiscent of Kawabata.

Even if something seems pointless at the time, you mustn't take it lightly. You'll see how useful it is later on. Nothing you study will ever turn out to be useless. That's the way the world is.
