Henry Ford paints a fascinating portrait of a farm boy who rose from obscurity to become the most influential American innovator of the 20th century. Ford's Model T automobile and his five-dollar-a-day wage ushered in the modern world, earning Ford reverence from millions of Americans. Yet many of the changes he wrought deeply troubled the car maker. In frustration, he lashed out at enemies, real and imagined.

Few men have accomplished so much with so little formal education. To think he brought us the automobile without even the knowledge of a high school graduate. "Henry Ford" was simply one of America's best engineering inventors of all time!

This is a good biography of Henry Ford. A lot of basics on the man. I lived in Dearborn, and now Windsor Ontario - and some key items are missing. Like the entire Canadian story of the Model T that was built across the river in Windsor because the British Government wouldn't allow an export from the USA. That is a huge exclusion from the story. Or Henry's affair and child with another woman. Orof the transfer of the company to Henry Ford II before Henry Ford died. Eleanor and Clara told Henry enough was enough. Bennet was fired on the spot. Henry and Clara are buried on Joy Road in Detroit, an area now mostly abandoned. Eleanor buried Edsel at first with her uncle J.L. Hudson, and later in their own tomb in Woodlawn. This DVD gives you the basics.

When you watch "The Men Who Made America" from the History Channel you're given the idea that Henry Ford was different than his predecessors and contemporaries and possessed more humanity and heart than they did. This documentary may change your mind....

A very well made documentary about Henry Ford the man, and the beginning of the car industry.

A fascinating, in-depth portrait of a brilliant, but flawed man, who changed the world forever. Beautifully made documentary.

Insightful documentary about the leading industrialist of his day. Ford's life and times are explored throughout, and his influence and impact on the twentieth century are profound, from the making of the most popular car of all time to the establishment of assembly line factories. His ingenuity and resourcefulness are examined, but so too is his dark side: a streak of anti-Semitism that stayed with him through his life, his tendency to bully those around him, particularly his son, and even his eccentric, morally rigid outlook on life.
