Best. Ending. Ever.
Kate Brian’s Shadowlands is ominous, mysterious, and will have readers attempting to piece the puzzle together! After Rory Miller gets attacked by her math teacher, Steven Nell, in the woods, she runs home to find the FBI informing her and her family that her teacher who she trusted, was a serial killer named Roger Krauss who has been on the run for ten years. He murdered fourteen different girls in ten states, and Rory was supposed to be his fifteenth kill. The FBI puts Rory and her family on witness protection and sends them away to a quaint vacation town where she is no longer a Miller, but a Thayer with a fake cover story. Rory and her sister Darcy slip into a friend group, but soon Rory finds their stares suspicious and finds herself going back to her flashes which were results of her previous PTSD. This book is not your usual suspense-filled book but will make you curious to find out what is happening in Rory’s new town. I give this book a 4/5 star rating. I recommend this book for ages 12 and up.

This book is truly amazing. This book takes you on quite the journey. It is a book that is hard to put down. Shadowlands is a mystery/crime type of book with a little bit of romance. There are also many twists in this book that are major. The plot is mind-blowing and the characters as well. Rory Miller is definitely not the average teenage girl in this novel. One of my favourite parts of this book is when Rory meets her new circle of friends in Juniper Landing. I would rate this book a 5/5 because of all the suspense and mystery. Shadowlands has 2 other books in the series. Overall, great.

The "Twilight Zone" meets "I Hunt Killers" meets "The Sixth Sense." This book had me on the edge of my seat until the very end, even though it still left me with questions. I definitely recommend it!
A quick good read. A serieal killer is after her and she is living in fear.
I never checked this out!
WHOAH! that's all I can say, this book was really good and the most surprising ending
can't wait 4 october wen hereafter, the next book comes out!!!!
Thrilling book, but I didn't understand the ending at all. It's confusing if you don't pay attention to the first half of the story. I had to google an explanation for it since it wasn't explained very well in the final chapter.
I wanted to read this book simply because the cover caught my attention. The very first chapter was thrilling, sensual, and engaging. After that the book went down hill for me. The ending in particular made me confused and annoyed. To top it off it is the first book in a trilogy! Brian seemed to have put a great deal of effort into the plot line, but in my opinion it is too inspired by popular cable television. Not sure if I will want to finish this series.
Not at all what I was expecting. Interesting story, unexpected ending - I think this is the beginning of a series? I'm curious to see where she's going with this.
