While I found the events throughout the book 'predictable', it was a pretty good read. Not a lot of filler text. Good book for those that enjoy religious 'soul food'.

Not a typical book that I would normally pick up, but the church's cross is hit by lightning in a small town in Michigan on a stormy night. You meet a cast of characters(Alex, Brooke, Carla, the Lindys, Macey, Zach and others) that you beginning to connect with, while big challenges present themselves, so do little miracles that happen around town. One gets caught up in all the craziness that is happening to their town. Admittedly, some scenes were heart-breaking with Alex (so you may need a box of tissues). Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!
