The appeal of this book is the subject matter - "ordinary" or people that make the world go 'round. And the individual stories are fascinating. However, I felt that the author could have been more insightful than she was.

I felt as if I was right there with her.

Nice that Laskas is paying attention to these unseen workers, but I found these profiles to be thin & unfocused. A Mark Bowden or a Barbara Ehrenreich could have done better.
