"Fans of the crime caper will rejoice" that Linwood Barclay is back with the hilarious follow-up to his "riotously funny and irreverent" debut, in which paranoid pop Zack Walker plotted to transplant his city-savvy wife and two teenage kids to the tranquillity of the burbs--where planned communities prevail and fathers rest easy. Well, not quite ... and now the Walkers have moved home only to find themselves living in the precarious crosshairs of urban sprawl once again, and Zack can't help but be worried--really worried--that just around the corner lurks the presence of some really bad guys.

A recycled action and crime story about a family guy bought a police confiscated car from an auction etc but with its own set of good and bad guys. Written in easy to understand words for all ages.

As with all of Barclay's books this was very good. It was written some years ago and his writing has moved him from 4 to 5 star ratings for me.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and quite humourous.

Zack: "I was thinking about when you have a scarf, or a shirt maybe, and you get a tear at one end, say, and the threads start coming apart. And you try to tidy up the edges, you snip off the loose strings, but then, after another day or so, there are more..." ---- Trimble shook his head, bemused. He looked over at me. "Sometimes you just have to play the hand you're dealt."

But if there's one thing I've learned from twenty years of marriage, it's that you don't need to be wrong to apologize. ---- If a guy thinks, just because his wife is coming home late from work every night, closing the door when she gets a phone call, and dressing a lot hotter than usual, that maybe she's having an affair, odds are she's having an affair.
