Presented in 2 parts - Fritz Lang's "Die Nibelungen" from 1924 had a total running time of nearly 5 hours.

It was mainly part one titled "Siegfried" that I thought provided the best moments of entertainment, especially when it came to the amusing, old-school dragon effects.

Containing some pretty impressive set designs and extravagant costumes - This epic film's story concerns soldiers being sent by Gunter, King of the Worms, to do battle with their enemies.
