I'm surprised to say I enjoyed this film - likable characters & a couple interesting side stories.

Fighting With My Family is proof that Florence Pugh is one of the most talented young actresses in movies right now. Why you ask? Pugh actually got me to sympathize with and root for an aspiring WWE wrestler. I have nothing against wrestling, it's just not a sport that I enjoy watching. Too violent for my tastes and I feel anxious that it's participants will snap their spines one day. Pugh's Saraya "Paige" Knight is a classic underdog and I can't resist a quality underdog story. Tough women who flout societal standards are my jam. I loved her close relationship with her quirky wrestling family and I cheered along with the audience when she dropped the mic in her epic debut on the WWE arena. Vince Vaughn was superb as her tough love coach, Hutch. I also was impressed with Lena Headey, Jack Lowden and Nick Frost. I can now appreciate the intense level of skill and athleticism that wrestling requires. If you're adverse to watching wrestling, like myself, or a WWE enthusiast, this movie won't disappoint.

Not quite on the level of another wrestling focused movie, "Ready to Rumble." This movie is funny and endearing and shows the based on the true story path of a wrestler by the played-by-herself, Paige.

WWE audiences will definitely love it. General audiences will have fun too. Paige's narration and the story itself will explain enough to the layperson that they will have an understanding of whats going on and why it matters.

Florence Pugh (Little Women, Midsommar) is almost unrecognisable as the daughter in a gothish, working class family obsessed with wrestling who gets the chance to make it in the big leagues. Lena Headey and Nick Frost are in great comic form as her somewhat loutish but loving parents. Classic "underdog makes good in the sport of their choice" story with a cameo from The Rock.

After watching Hobbs and Shaw with Dwayne Johnson I was leery of watching this movie as it had Dwayne Johnson in it. But to my surprise, Dwayne had a very small roll in the movie. I was presently surprised at the story line. I actually enjoyed the movie but then I also enjoyed the movie Southpaw. It is a basic story line of the underdog working hard and the hurtles they have to overcome to succeed.

I don't really like wrestling, and I don't really like inspiration sport movies (inspired by a true story!), so I was pleasantly surprised by this predictable, but quite entertaining movie. I was also surprised that Stephen Merchant of "The Office" fame, wrote, directed, and produced it. Florence Pugh, my favorite actress of 2019, plays a tough English wrestler who gets a shot at the big time (but can she handle it?) when she gets to go to wrestling boot camp run by a perfectly jaded Vince Vaughn. The fine supporting cast includes Lena Headey, Nick Frost (who I thought was Mark Addy for about 10 minutes), and, in the role he was born to play, The Rock. Or Dwayne Johnson. What is he going by these days?

I didn’t expect myself to enjoy a movie about wrestling, but I found Fighting with My Family a fun romp in the world of professional wrestling while also being a heartwarming look at family bonds and expectations. It was a treat seeing Florence Pugh shine in another film this year despite knowing how it was going to turn out since it is based on the real WWE Superstar Paige.

Based on the documentary by Max Fisher, it depicts the WWE career of professional wrestler Paige, portrayed by Florence Pugh. I enjoyed this film even though it is something I wouldn't normally pick up. You don't need to be a fan or the WWE or wrestling to enjoy this film.

Liked the movie but Paige in this story looks like Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. Besides knowing how to wrestle the real Paige is tall and has WWE diva hotness.
