worth a look - It's apparently based on the true story of a young man who worked at a homeless shelter in Boston. The portrayal of a family in long lived pain rang true - no tidy answers here - just people trying to figure out what the…

This unusual father/son movie is strong, powerful and ultimately tender and haunting. Dealing forthrightly with homelessness, the movie is not very pretty, but it remains mesmerizing thanks to the directing and the terrific performances by…

A precursor to his Silver Linings role perhaps. It has DeNiro so I give it 3 stars. Other than that there's not much else to day about this film.

Good – Being Flynn (2012) 102 min. Starring Robert DeNiro, Paul Dano, Julianne Moore. Honest, harrowing and heartbreaking look at homelessness through the eyes of both a father and son. The film is elevated through the shear expertise of…

Both primary actors are very good. A sometimes painful account of a strained relationship between father and son.

The story's characters, although tragic, didn't garner any sympathy from me. De Niro's elder Flynn had an excuse to be unlikeable, with the racist rants, etcetera, but Dano wasn't likeable either. Or anyone else. I'm not sure if it was the…

Dano & Diniro worked beautifully well together. Along with some lesser know (to me) actors, the cast was great, and the story was very sincere. If you can relate to this father-son relationship, it really hits home. I highly recommend this…

Well acted father son drama. The story is dark and moves at a good pace toward a satisfying conclusion. I liked that it stayed heavy throughout. The character arcs of DeNiro and Dano were the draw here. Not a happy feelgood flick.
